State Board Releases Local Elections Guidance For Lever Voting Machines

State Board  Of Elections Commission Doug Kellner has announced that the Board of Elections has released its “Report Concerning Recommendations and Guidance for the Administration of Elections by Villages, School Districts, Fire Districts, Library Districts and Other Municipal Corporations Required to Hold Elections in New York State.” The report reviews how these special districts should be required to end the use of lever voting machines to comply with New York law adopted in 2005, which outlawed use of the machines.
The report, which was approved by all four commissioners on a bi-partisan basis, can be downloaded at http://elections.ny.gov  (see “Recent Publications” in the right-hand column)
