State Bill Would Close Schools on Election Day

In an effort to insure school safety and to keep the wrong people from entering schools and endangering students when schools are used for elections, Assembly Al Stirpe has introduced legislation to close schools on Election Day. As reported by Michelle Breidenbach in the Post Standard, Stirpe is sponsoring the legislation with the support of the New York State Election Commissioners Association. There is currently no Senate sponsor.
