Newsday’s Rick Brand discusses the challenge by former LI Senator John Dunne and others in his column today on “the Brennan Center for Justice’s lawsuit to throw out what is known as the “LLC loophole,” which lets limited liability companies, unchecked, give millions of dollars to state candidates.”
Dunne represented a Nassau County Senate district before going to Washington to serve as President George H.W. Bush’s Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights.
(Editor’s note- I had the privilege to work in one of Senator Dunne’s early campaigns for the State Senate. He set a standard for excellence in Albany, along with other legislators of that time including Stanley Fink and many of the Watergate era members).
