More Residents Left New York Than Any Other State In 2013 (But More Moved In, Too)

Bob Fredericks reports in the NY Post that “IRS data from 2013 shows 114,929 taxpayers moved out of the state, far more than the 68,943 who left Illinois, which ranked second for most residents lost.

The article also mentions that New York gained 272,066 people, according to Governor Cuomo’s spokesman Rich Azzopardi.

Comparing IRS numbers with Census Bureau data can be tricky and misleading. Nonetheless, New York is still expecting to lose one more congressional district after the 2020 census.
