With WEP In Limbo, Counties Face Question Of What To Do With WEP Nominations

The Times Union’s Matthew Hamilton takes a look at the situation faced by county boards of elections, now faced with multiple petitions filed by would be candidates to run in this November’s general election.  Hamilton considers

“… a question county boards of election are grappling with in the wake of yesterday’s decision by a state Supreme Court justice in Niagara County to enjoin three possible ruling bodies for the Women’s Equality Party from nominating candidates. Put another way (because I know that’s a mouthful): Three groups want to run the party, but none of them legally can because of a lack of proper support for each of their sets of rules.”
