No Constitutional Convention Commission In State Budget

In January, Governor Cuomo proposed an allocation of  $1 million to create a non-partisan commission to begin studying  a constitutional convention. In 2017, voters will be asked to vote on whether to hold a constitutional convention before 2020.

The final 2016-2017 budget did not include the commission, leaving it mostly to the SUNY Rockefeller Institute’s constitutional convention project to best educate the public, along with efforts by the state bar association and other civic organizations.
