De Blasio Doubts Board Of Elections Primary Snafu Was An Effort To Freeze Out Sanders Supporters

The Daily News’ Jennifer Fermino reports:

“The Board of Elections screw-up that caused problems at polling sites this past Tuesday and led to the unpaid suspension of a top staffer was probably not a partisan effort to disenfranchise those feeling the “bern,” Mayor de Blasio said Friday.

Although some have speculated that purging of over 100,000 voters from the books in Brooklyn might have been an attempt to disenfranchise Sen. Bernie Sanders’ supporters, de Blasio said he doesn’t believe that’s the case.

“I have no reason to believe” the mistakes were targeting a specific groups, de Blasio, a Hillary Clinton supporter, said Friday on the Brian Lehrer show on WNYC.”
