Senate Elections Committee Meets; LLC Loophole Legislation Future Unclear

Northeast Public Radio’s Karen DeWitt provides more coverage of yesterday’s Senate Elections Committee meeting, informing readers that by sending Senator Squadron’s legislation (S.60B) to the Codes Committee,  it is unlikely to see action this year. The Codes Chair, Senator Michael Nozzolio, is retiring at the end of the year and recently had heart surgery, keeping him out of Albany for the rest of the session.

17 bills were reported by the committee yesterday. Another interesting bill reported by the committee is S.3813B (Stewart Cousins) to establish a system to permit eligible voters throughout the state to vote in person during a designated period prior to any primary, special, or general election day.
