The story continues. Now, Sarah Trefethen and Bob Fredericks report in the New York Post that “Gov. Cuomo on Wednesday unloaded on Mayor de Blasio for falsely accusing the state Board of Elections chief investigator and other state officials of leaking a report on the mayor’s fund-raising — and demanded that Hizzoner apologize.
“When you attack people and you’re questioning reputations, then facts matter. The mayor accused career public servants basically of unprofessional conduct and leaking the report. That issue was investigated, and the mayor was wrong,” Cuomo said at an unrelated event at the World Trade Center.
“And he, in my opinion, falsely and recklessly accused public servants, who were just doing their job, of being unprofessional. On the facts he was wrong, these were people who were just doing their jobs. I think he should apologize.”
