Challenge to NY Election Registration Websites Loses In Federal Court

Federal District Court Judge Katherine B. Forrest (SDNY)  denied a motion for a preliminary injunction this afternoons sought by two visually impaired New Yorkers over the accessibility  of websites  maintained by the state Department of Motor Vehicles and the Board of Elections. The plaintiffs argued that the websites failed to provide adequate access for voter registration.

Judge Forrest determined that the plaintiffs were unlikely to succeed and that their request to change the deadline for address changes were precluded by prior court rulings.
