Press release– Tomorrow, Tuesday, May 2nd, civic groups and concerned citizens from the Vote Better NY coalition will call on Albany lawmakers to remove New York’s barriers to the ballot and ensure the right to vote for every eligible New Yorker. Coalition members will gather at the State Capitol to share their personal voting experiences with lawmakers and advocate for election reform.
Vote Better NY seeks common sense changes to New York’s voting laws to ensure that every eligible New Yorker is registered to vote, that voters have more than one day to get to the polls, and that every voter can cast a ballot that counts. This year, our legislative platform consists of:
