NYC Councilman’s Sudden Exit Blasted As ‘Shady’ By Good-Government Groups

The departure of David Greenfield from the NYC Council race opened the door for Greenfield’s Committee on Vacancies to name his replacement. Will Bredderman covers the story in Crain’s: “Greenfield’s decision, first reported early Monday morning by Crain’s, lets his committee on vacancies, a handpicked group of associates, replace him on the Democratic primary ballot. Several sources said the spot will go to Yeger, a longtime campaign aide who had intended to run in an adjacent district held by Councilman Chaim Deutsch, a Greenfield rival.”
