Election Commissioner: ‘Disproportionate’ Number of Sugarman Cases vs. Minorities

In the Times Union, from David Lombardo “(a) co-chairman of the state Board of Elections accused the office’s chief enforcement counsel of disproportionately targeting black and Hispanic political candidates during a meeting Thursday.

Co-chairman Douglas Kellner suggested that chief enforcement counsel Risa Sugarman has been “arbitrary and capricious as to who gets prosecuted.” Kellner added that a “disproportionate number of minorities” were being targeted.”
